PBS Video: S&I 100 Index and Giving Tuesday

The PBS Nightly Business Report featured the S&I 100 Index as part of a segment on Giving Tuesday this week. Giving Tuesday is a new campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It builds national awareness around the many ways to give back during the holidays and it encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations. The PBS segment below points out that one of every four dollars that will be given to charities this year will be donated during the holiday season.

Appropriately,  the S&I 100 Index launched earlier this month, just as the giving season was getting underway. Our president, Alex Rossides, is interviewed in the segment talking about using the Index as a resource to help individual donors easily identify the most effective organizations in their community so that they can give with confidence and know that their dollars are having an impact.

The video highlights the work of The Doe Fund, one of the organizations listed on the Index that is making an impact on poverty alleviation in New York by helping homeless men get off the streets and providing them with housing, job training and jobs. The Doe Fund is just one example of the many evidence-based organizations included as part of the S&I 100. We are thrilled to be taking part in this very important conversation around making giving count.

We encourage you to share this video with your networks and help us spread the word about using the S&I 100 Index for an impactful giving season and beyond.
